An individual article included in an inventory report.

An item on a client-provided inventory.

An item on a processor-reported inventory (a.k.a. a reported item).

A barcoded asset label designated for the purpose of tracking a retired item (a.k.a. disposal tag).

A verification tag was printed and mailed to the client.

An expected item purported to have a verification tag applied to it.

A serial number associated with an expected item. The serial number may or may not be associated with a specific verification tag used.

A serial number associated with an actual item. A serial number that is reported by the processor.

An expected item that does not have a verification tag associated with it.

An expected item that does not have a verification tag or serial number associated with it.

Used item is recorded and/or matched

Used item is not recorded and/or matched. For a serial number provided, there is no match, and its corresponding verification tag is also unrecorded.

Untracked items, plus items that are Not Issued No Match (i.e an untagged expected item for which there was no match for the provided serial number)

An item that was physically received and inventoried by the processor (a.k.a. an actual item).

An item for which a verification tag ID was reported by the processor. A verification tag that the processor electronically recorded or physically scanned.

A verification tag that was reported as used by the client but was not reported by the processor.

An item reported by the processor but not recorded (i.e., the item was inventoried, but the tag was not scanned). An item was reported, but no verification tag was present.

An item was reported, but no verification tag was present, and no match or mismatch for the provided serial number.

An untagged actual item for which no serial number was captured, or there was no match for the captured serial number.

Difference between count of used and reported (a.k.a. expected versus actual)

An error when an identical tag exists for different items in the manifest.

An error when an identical tag exists for different expected items on the same or different manifest(s).

An error when an identical tag exists for different actual items on the same or different manifest(s).

An error when an identical serial number exists for different items in the manifest.

An error when an identical serial number exists for different actual items on the same or different manifest(s).

An error when an identical serial number exists for different actual items on the same or different manifest(s).

An error when an identical serial number exists for an expected item and an actual item on a different manifest.

An error when an identical serial number exists for an expected item and a tracked item on a different manifest. This often indicates an outdated expected inventory because it contains an item previously retired.

An error when a verification tag was systematically determined as used but was not provided.

A provided serial number that is an exact or inexact match but not a mismatch.

A provided serial number that is not a match.

A serial number is an exact or inexact match, but inventory conflict precludes tracking contribution. Mismatches reveal inventory discrepancies but do not further the count of tracked items (that would be double counting).

Serial numbers are exactly the same.

Serial numbers closely resemble one another (a.k.a., a fuzzy match).

A provided serial number for which there is no match or mismatch. A provided serial number that does not have a direct match, indirect match, or logical match or is part of a mismatch scenario.

An untagged expected item for which there was no match for the provided serial number. Also called Not Used No Match.

A captured serial number for which there is no match or mismatch. A captured serial number that does not have a direct, indirect, or logical match or is part of a mismatch scenario.

An exact match for a recorded item. For a given verification tag recorded, there is an exact match between the serial number provided by the client and the serial number captured by the processor.

An exact match between an item not associated with a verification tag and an untagged item.

An exact match between an unrecorded item and an untagged item. A provided serial number for an unrecorded item is an exact match with a captured serial number of an untagged item.

An inexact match for a recorded item. The provided serial number closely resembles the captured serial number for a given verification tag, but there is no exact match.

Inexact match between an unrecorded item and an untagged item

Inexact match between an item not associated with verification tag and an untagged item

An exact match between a recorded item and an untagged item. A mismatch type 1 is a provided serial number for an unrecorded item that is an exact match with a captured serial number of a recorded item associated with a different verification tag.

An exact match between a recorded item and an item associated with a different verification tag. A provided serial number for a recorded item that is an exact match with a captured serial number of an untagged item.

A provided serial number for an unrecorded item that is an inexact match with a captured serial number of an untagged item.

An inexact match between a recorded item and an item associated with a different verification tag.

An exact match between an unrecorded item and an item associated with a different verification tag.

An inexact match between an unrecorded item and an item associated with a different verification tag.

An exact match between an item not associated with a verification tag and an item associated with a different verification tag.

An inexact match between an item not associated with a verification tag and an item associated with a different verification tag.
